Time off

To support your work-life balance, you have access to paid time off (PTO), sick time, sick family member time (to care for others who are sick) and extended sick leave. How much you get depends on how many hours you work to accrue time in your sick time banks and PTO bank.

For a team member working full-time hours, the PTO accrual rate generates enough time to cover the eight holidays observed by Community and additional days based on your years of service and how many hours you work each year. And you can carry over your PTO from year to year up to a maximum of 480 hours. If you work 8-hour shifts and 80 hours a pay period you would have this much PTO:

  • 0-4 years at CHS = 13 days + 8 holidays
  • 5-9 years at CHS = 18 days + 8 holidays
  • 10+ years at CHS = 23 days + 8 holidays

Your PTO can be used for paid holidays, vacation days, a mental health day, a personal day or when you run out of sick time or sick family member time.
